Fitness for use - is the suitability of a product for its intended purpose of use. The assessment is carried out due to different, user-relevant fitness for use characteristics by means of defined conditions.

• Minimum requirements as claimed by the legislator on the mechanical, electrical, chemical and hygienic safety due to different normative test bases
• Product-oriented fitness for use characteristics e. g. performance, function, sensoric, endurance limit, by means of internal and external test programs
• User-relevant fitness for use characteristics - amid laboratory conditions and during panelist tests - in the frame of ergonomic tests regarding furniture and leisure appliances and handling tests regarding household appliances and tools
