  Taps/valves for drinking water supply

Hydraulic and mechanical tests

Taps and valves for drinking water supply include those in daily use for washbasins, bathtubs, showers or sinks, as well as those out of sight, such as shut-off valves in the water distribution system or the safety valves that stop water unsuitable for consumption from flowing back into the water supply.

LGA QualiTest's centre of competence for sanitary and water separation at Würzburg has a long tradition as an expert testing body for such products as drinking water supply taps and valves. The centre of competence is recognized as a testing and monitoring body by the German Association for Gas and Water (DVGW) and by DIN Certco. Thanks to its participation in the DVGW technical committee and a number of DIN standardisation committees, the centre of competence can contribute its specialised knowledge at a national level, while keeping up-to-date on future trends.

What we can test for you:

  • sanitary taps and valves, such as single-lever mixer taps, twin-tap mixers, thermostat mixers, self-closing mixers, showers, shower hoses, angle valves
  • shut-off valves, such as inclined seat valves, flat seat valves, ball valves, piston valves, diaphragm valves, etc.
  • safety valves, such as pipe ventilators, pipe interrupters, reduced pressure zone (RPZ) valves, return flow inhibitors, etc.
  • flushing equipment for toilet bowls and urinals, filling valves with cisterns
  • special valves for particular applications.

Testing is carried out to national DIN standards, European EN standards or international standards.
With our test certificates, you can apply for certification by the DVGW. Our test certificates are also recognised by various other European and overseas certifiers as the basis for their certification.

The LGA can also test the noise behaviour of taps and valves, as well as the relevant award of the general construction test certificate.

Hydraulic and mechanical tests are carried out in the LGA's centre of competence for sanitary and water separation methods at its Würzburg branch office.
